bob hund was formed in 1991 by Jonas Jonasson (keyboards) and Thomas Öberg (vocals) after meeting in high school.

bob hund was formed in 1991 by Jonas Jonasson (keyboards) and Thomas Öberg (vocals) after meeting in high school. After six formative months the bands line-up was finished, with Conny Nimmersjö and Johnny Essing on guitar, Mats Hellqvist on bass and Mats Andersson on drums. Legend has it that Essing joined rehearsals to pay off a 100 SEK dept to Hellqvist, and just kept coming back. The band was signed to Silence Records in 1993, and that same year released their debute EP, bob hund. The following year they released their first album, also called bob hund, which earned them the Rock Band of the Year prize at the Swedish Grammy Awards, Grammisgalan. They also won another Grammis for Best Lyrics in 1996. Det Överexponerade Gömstället is out now.

Datarock will release "Catcher in the Rye," which is being dubbed "the most extravagant single in history," on March 21!

(Photo Thomas Brun)

As Datarock tours the Americas post SXSW gigs they now release “Catcher in the Rye,” easily dubbed as “the most extravagant single in history”. The limited single itself comes as a designer toy with a USB stick featuring everything from the history of Datarock, including 1500 photos from their shows in 33 countries, 20 music videos, and Never Say Die – a brand new hour-long concert film. Also, they are also of course releasing a digital 5 track EP Catcher in the Rye, plus (remember this is Datarock) another EP built around their new track California. Look out for more digital snacks from the track suit redhoods. Check out the video here.
